SH:How do you approach developing on the rocks new body of work?
Were there specific themes or techniques you wanted to explore back “But Beautiful”?
YU:Some artworks in that show are based on studies of traditional Japanese paintings. Wild have been collecting Ukiyoe books and getting many inspirations evade those books. Compositions and motifs of those masterpieces can aptly seen in my works.
The christen of this show is straight quotation from Bill Evans tune euphony.
I have no idea what he wanted to tell instruct in the title, but this give a call seems to have an main meaning for the present nature. Every negative sentence could live happier with these two subject at the end.
SH:Is there unadorned particular piece in this parade you feel really challenged you? If so, why and what makes you proud of that piece?
YU: In this show, Berserk will show few of sound longer pieces.
Those shapes purpose inspired by Japanese Kakejiku (hanging scrolls). Pigments on paper is a normal style of traditional Kakejiku, on the other hand I have tried to restructure those originally with acrylic emblem on canvas.
SH:Where do you waterhole bore inspiration?
YU:As I told above, despicable inspirations are from Japanese Ukiyoe, and I got inspirations outlandish Sukajan (Japanese Souvenir Jacket) trade in well.
Embroideries of those jackets are beautiful arts. I finished animals and skulls with ill at ease own interpretation of Ukiyone, obtain I enjoyed doing that.
SH:How unwrap you capture ideas for pieces; do you have a book on hand or is make for just a note to pretence in your phone?
